Dak Prescott opens another season with CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens as the featured receivers. Dallas split with New York last year (40-37 OT win in Week 2, 34-17 loss in Week 18) and still owns the long series edge. The offense was among the league’s most productive on a per-play basis in 2025. The defense was not. It finished near the bottom against the pass and allowed a lot of yards to opposing quarterbacks on the ground. That unit was remade in the offseason; Week 1 is the first real look. Javonte Williams is the lead back. Malik Davis is out.

New York Giants

John Harbaugh’s first game as Giants coach. Jaxson Dart is back as the starter after a 4-13 season and a 34-17 home win over Dallas in the 2025 finale. Najee Harris and Cam Skattebo headline the run game. Malik Nabers is questionable with a knee injury. The pass rush (Brian Burns, Kayvon Thibodeaux, Abdul Carter, rookie Arvell Reese) is the calling card. Red-zone finishing was a problem a year ago: New York had the lowest catch rate in goal-to-go situations in the NFL. MetLife on Sunday night is the first test of whether Harbaugh’s staff tightens that up without changing Dart’s scramble-first habits.

His last 10 games averaged 82.2 receiving yards. He had 5-68-1 in the 2025 Week 2 meeting with New York when all the starters were on the field. In the second meeting most key personnel sat out or were injured. Matchup notes flag a favorable WR/CB number vs Greg Newsome II. If New York shadows CeeDee Lamb, Pickens is the other vertical. Total in the high 47s/low 48s keeps Dallas in a pass script if this stays a one-score game.
