NBA free bet today: ASA play on Miami Heat +5.5 vs. Cleveland Cavaliers, 1pm ET

We are going to support the Heat plus the points in this one as we trust Miami head coach Spolestra to dial up a gameplan to get a home win in Game 3.

Miami played much better in the 2nd half of their last game, outscoring the Cavs 61-53 over the final 2 quarters of Game 2. The Heat won the rebound battle 38-34 and shot well at 52%.

The Cavs were dialed in from Deep by hitting 22-45 from beyond the Arc, but don’t expect shots to fall as easily on the road in Miami.

The Heat were home underdogs just 15 times this season and a profitable 9-6 ATS in those games with an average plus/minus of -3.7ppg (good enough for a cover here).

Cleveland was very good as a road chalk this season at 20-14 ATS but they are just 2-5 ATS in that role their last seven. Miami shoots it much better at home than they do on the road with the 4th best 3PT% on their home court in the NBA.

The Cavs road 3PT% defense ranks 18th. If the Heat are going to win a game in this series it could be this one. Regardless, we expect a close game and will grab the points.

UNDER 70.5 RECEIVING YARDS – BUFFALO BILLS WR STEFON DIGGS – Last season Diggs averaged 89.1-Yards Receiving per game with a 154 total targets on the season. In two games against the Jets, he was held to an average of 4 receptions per game and 65-Yards receiving. Diggs faded down the stretch last season, averaging under 67.5 receiving yards in four of the Bills last six games. Last season the Jets defense ranked 3rd in passing yards allowed at 189.4YPG. Buffalo averaged 261.4-Passing Yards Per Game a year ago which was 5th best in the NFL. In the two games against this Jets defense last year, Allen and Bills threw for just 352-total yards.  

OVER 35.5 RUSHING YARDS – BUFFALO BILLS QB JOSH ALLEN – Allen was 2nd on the Bills team last year in rushing at 762 total rushing yards. That’s an average of 47.6-Rushing Yards Per Game. He has rushed for over 760-Yards in each of the last two seasons. Against a Jets defense that is extremely tough to pass on, it should lead to more rushing opportunities for Allen when his receivers are covered downfield. In the two games against this Jets D a year ago he rushed for 47 and 86 yards respectively.

NBA Player Prop Bets – January 18th 2023

ASA NBA PLAYER PROP OVER 18.5 POINTS – Josh Giddey – Oklahoma City Thunder

The Thunder are on an impressive streak with road wins over the 76ers, Bulls and Nets. A big reason why has been the play of Giddey who has cored 20, 25 and 28-points in those three contests. That’s significant considering those three teams rank 1st, 2nd and 4th in the least amount of points scored per game against point guards. Indiana allows 22.9PPG to PG’s this season, which is roughly league average. Overall, the Pacers own the 10th worst defensive efficiency rating in the NBA allowing 1.146-points per possession. Easy Over call for Giddey.

ASA NBA PLAYER PROP OVER 24.5 POINTS – De’Aaron Fox – Sacramento Kings

We like the value here with a number that’s been set too low. These same two teams met on Jan 7th and the O/U for points scored by Fox was 26.5. We bet that Over and he finished with 34-points. In three games against the Lakers this season he has scored 37, 22 and 34 points. The Lakers are the 2nd worst team in the league when it comes to points allowed to point guards as they give up 26.9PPG. In a high possession game (the total is 247) he should get plenty of opportunities to score.

ASA NBA PLAYER PROP OVER 31.5 POINTS+ASSISTS – De’Aaron Fox – Sacramento Kings

We like the value here with a number that’s been set too low. These same two teams met on Jan 7th and the O/U for points+assists by Fox was 33.5. He finished with 43 in that most recent game. The Lakers are the 2nd worst team in the league when it comes to points allowed to point guards as they give up 26.9PPG. They allow the 9th most assists to PG’s at 8.4APG. In a high possession game (the total is 247) he should get plenty of opportunities to score and dish out assists here.

ASA Players Prop Bills vs. Rams – Sept 8th

ASA player prop – OVER 3.5 RECEPTIONS – BUFFALO BILLS WR Isaiah McKenzie +120

ASA players prop for the NFL opener on Thursday night is sleeper that the Books have whiffed on. Isaiah McKenzie is replacing Cole Beasley as the slot receiver for the Bills and should see plenty of action here. Beasley was Bills QB Josh Allen’s second favorite target behind Stefon Diggs (164 targets) with 112 targets which was 29th most in the NFL last season. The Bills were 7th in pass attempts per season a year ago and that philosophy remains the same even with a new O-coordinator in Ken Dorsey in Buffalo. The Rams were 4th in sacks a year ago so expect Allen to check down to the underneath routes which means McKenzie will get plenty of balls thrown his way in the opener. We like McKenzie to finish with 5 receptions in this showdown.
