College Football Free play

ASA COLLEGE FOOTBALL FREE PLAY ON Mississippi State -28.5 over UL Monroe, Saturday at 7:30 PM ET

ULM is one of the worst programs in CFB with just 7 wins over FBS opponents in their last 3 seasons. They are just 37-81 SU over the last decade. Their spread record during that time is 48-68-2 ATS. Even when the oddsmakers throw up a big spread against this team they don’t cover. The Warhawks are just 1-7 ATS their last 8 times as a dog of 20+ points.

MSU should be able to name their score here. The Dogs will dominate the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball vs a ULM offensive line that ranks 125th in returning snaps. In addition, the ULM defensive line only brings back 44 total snaps from last season (dead last in the nation). If you’re seeking a valuable free play, college football insights often point to dominant favorites like MSU.

The Warhawks rank 127th in freshmen + portal additions so they don’t have much talent replacing those lost snaps.  Mississippi State should run at will here and should hang a huge number in this game.  T

The Dogs have one of the top QB’s in the SEC returning (Davis) who will put extra pressure on ULM’s D. He is very athletic and can put up big games on the ground and through the air. For fans looking for this week’s most promising free play in college football, this matchup stands out.

We rate Monroe’s offense and defense outside the top 125 entering this season. Therefore, we look for huge success on both sides of the ball for MSU.

Last year ULM lost their 2 games vs Power 4 teams 73-0 vs Alabama and 42-7 vs Northwestern (one of the worst teams in the Big 10 LY). In fact, going back 4 years, the Warhawks have faced 7 Power 4 teams. They’ve been outscored in those games 363 to 33 (an average score of 51.8 to 4.7!).

Lastly, while Monroe has struggled cashing as a big underdog, Mississippi State has been a bully vs lower tier competition. They are going 15-3-1 ATS as a favorite of 20 or more (since 2017). Let’s lay it. To conclude, this makes for a compelling college football free play, given the teams’ history.

College Football Free Pick: Eastern Michigan vs Sacramento State

college free pick Eastern Michigan vs Sacramento State

Eastern Michigan (-9.5) over Sacramento St, Saturday at 6:30 PM ET

Today’s college football free pick for Saturday, August 29th. Sacramento State makes the jump from FCS to FBS this season. It starts with a long road trip to Michigan. Speaking of long road trips. Sac St is now in the MAC. Therefore, long road trips will be the norm for this team. This is something we’ll have to track as the year progresses. For those seeking a College Football Free Pick: Eastern Michigan -9.5 vs Sacramento State is attracting attention opening weekend.

SACRAMENTO STATE STEPPING UP IN CLASS

Not only are the Hornets taking a big step up in competition, they are also going through a transition to a new head coach. This is their 3rd in 3 years. Alonzo Carter takes over the helm after coming over from Arizona where he was the RB’s coach. Carter has never been a head coach. In contrast, he is taking on EMU’s head man Chris Creighton who has coached well over 300 games at the FBS level. In the context of College Football Free Pick: Eastern Michigan -9.5 vs Sacramento State, coaching stability could be a key difference.

EAGLES EXPERIENCE

The Eagles have a veteran team coming back ranking 24th nationally in returning production. This includes QB Kim (2,800 yards and 18 TD’s last year) who is one of the top few signal callers in the MAC.

HORNETS REBUILD MODE

On the other side, Sac St is in full rebuild mode ranking 131st in returning production. Their offensive line is very young ranking 133rd in career starts. Furthermore, the offense as a whole has just 1 returning starter and lost their QB, top 5 rushers, and 3 of their top 4 pass catchers. They have 73 brand new players in the program entering this year. Therefore, this team will struggle early in the season as they try and build some chemistry.

LINE MOVEMENT

This line opened closer to -7 but we still think EMU is worth a look. However, we wouldn’t lay over 10 in this game if it does jump up. While we’re a bit apprehensive laying significant points with Eastern Michigan, this is a really solid spot for the Eagles in their home opener vs a decimated team stepping up in class. To sum up, the College Football Free Pick: Eastern Michigan -9.5 vs Sacramento State provides value based on the current matchup dynamics.

SUMMARY

ASA’s college football free bet: Eastern Michigan -9.5 vs. Sacramento State – Enjoy the game! Additionally, this College Football Free Pick: Eastern Michigan -9.5 vs Sacramento State is one to watch for Saturday’s action.

Wisconsin Badgers Big Ten 2026

WISCONSINBADGERS2026

Wisconsin Badgers bounce back 2026

WISCONSIN BADGERS Big 10 Sleeper – The Badgers look to bounce back after failing to make a bowl game in each of the last 2 seasons after reaching the post-season every year since 2002 prior to that.  As a result of improved play, they showed some life near the end of last season beating 2 ranked teams (Illinois and Washington) in their final in November.

The Bucky defense really played well after a few changes late last season holding 4 of their last 5 opponents to 21 points or less (National Champ Indiana the only team that topped 21).  Consequently, we expect them to be solid again on that side of the ball again in 2026-27.

Much of the Badgers offensive woes can be attributed to injuries at QB with Wisconsin losing their starting signal caller early in the season each of the last 2 years.  After injuries, they were down to their 3rd and 4th string QB midway through last season.  As a result of poor QB play a year ago, they brought in Old Dominion starting QB Colton Joseph who threw for over 2600 yards and ran for over 1000 yards last season.  We feel he’s the perfect fit for OC Grimes offense.

The schedule is MUCH more manageable this season with a strength of schedule ranking outside the top 100 (win/loss method) after sitting in the top 5 last season.

South Carolina Gamecocks 2026

South Carolina Sleeper

South Carolina football predictions 2026.

SOUTH CAROLINA GAMECOCKS sleeper team – The Gamecocks finished a disappointing 4-8 last season which was their worst season under head coach Shane Beamer.  Their only other losing season under Beamer was in 2023 when they finished 5-7 and bounced back in 2024 with a 9-4 record.

Despite their record, South Carolina had a positive point differential and positive yards per play differential last season.  Kendal Briles (TCU offensive coordinator last season) has been brought in to coordinate the offense and he should have success with 3rd year starting QB Sellers back.

The O-line is rebuilt with transfers but has a ton of experience with over 6,000 combined snaps, the most in college football.  The offense as a whole brings back over 10,600 snaps, also the most in CFB.

The Gamecocks should get off to a fast start as they should be favored in 4 of their first 5 games and only 1 road tilt during that stretch. South Carolina could provide some solid betting value early on in 2026. Furthermore, the South Carolina hopes to emerge as the SEC Sleeper, and the Gamecocks could be a surprise team in 2026 due to their experienced leadership and key playmakers.

As anticipation builds, many are pointing to the possibility that the Gamecocks could be South Carolina’s true SEC Sleeper in 2026.

SEC Teams Win Totals 2026. Notably, there is much conversation surrounding the status of South Carolina as a contender entering the season.

Penn State Big Ten Champions +240

PennStateBig10champs

ASAwins – Penn State +240 to Win the Big Ten: 2025 Sports Betting Preview

Penn State enters the 2025 college football season as a legitimate contender for the Big Ten title, with odds of +240 and a chance to more than double our investment. The Lions have a strong roster, favorable schedule, and elite coaching staff. With one of the deepest teams in the nation, a proven track record under head coach James Franklin, and key additions to the coaching staff, the Nittany Lions are well-positioned to make a run at the conference crown and a spot in the expanded 12-team College Football Playoff (CFP).

Why Bet on Penn State at +240?

1. Elite Roster Depth and Returning Talent – Penn State boasts one of the most talented and experienced rosters in college football for 2025. The Nittany Lions return key players at nearly every position, including quarterback Drew Allar, running backs Nicholas Singleton and Kaytron Allen, and a stout offensive line with four returning starters. Defensively, they return starters at all three levels, including star defensive end Dani Dennis-Sutton and cornerback A.J. Harris.

Running Back Duo: Singleton and Allen form the nation’s premier backfield, both surpassing 1,000 rushing yards in 2024 (Singleton: 1,099 yards, 12 TDs; Allen: 1,108 yards, 8 TDs). ESPN ranks them as the No. 2 and No. 3 running backs in college football for 2025, respectively. Their complementary styles—Singleton’s explosive speed and Allen’s physical, chain-moving power—make them a nightmare for opposing defenses. Both are also effective in the passing game, with Singleton recording 375 receiving yards and 5 TDs in 2024.

Offensive Line: Penn State returns four of five starters on the offensive line, including tackles Drew Shelton and Anthony Donkoh, guard Vega Ioane, and center Nick Dawkins. This unit allowed just 8 sacks and 14 tackles for loss in 2024 while paving the way for 3,237 rushing yards. Their experience and cohesion should provide ample protection for Allar and open lanes for Singleton and Allen.

Quarterback Stability: Drew Allar, a former five-star recruit, returns for his senior season after showing improvement in 2024 under offensive coordinator Andy Kotelnicki. Allar’s health and decision-making will be critical, but with a strong supporting cast, he’s poised for a breakout year.

Transfer Portal Additions: Penn State addressed its wide receiver struggles by adding Devonte Ross, Kyron Hudson, and Trebor Peña via the transfer portal. These additions provide Allar with reliable targets, potentially elevating the passing game.

2. Proven Track Record Under James Franklin – Franklin’s tenure at Penn State has been marked by consistent success, with a 101-42 record (.706 winning percentage) and seven top-12 CFP rankings in the last nine seasons. Since 2016, Penn State is 82-12 straight-up (SU) as a favorite, with an average margin of victory of +21 points per game (PPG). This is a critical stat, as the Nittany Lions are projected to be favored in every game except their road matchup against Ohio State.

Recent Success: In 2024, Penn State reached the Big Ten Championship Game and secured two CFP victories, finishing with a 12-2 record.

However, Franklin’s 1-15 SU record against Top 5 teams is a concern. The Ohio State game looms large, but the Buckeye’s face a tougher schedule and will likely have to win in Michigan in their final game of the season.

3. Favorable 2025 Schedule – Penn State’s path to the Big Ten title is manageable, with only one projected underdog game (at Ohio State). Key games include:

Home vs. Oregon: A marquee matchup that could decide the Big Ten pecking order. Playing at Beaver Stadium, where Penn State is 45-5 SU since 2016, gives them a significant edge. The Lions also get Nebraska at home who is the only other preseason Top 25 team on their schedule.

The Lions avoid Michigan and USC which are two major obstacles avoided on their way to a Big Ten Championship.

4. Elite Coaching Staff – Penn State’s coaching staff is among the best in college football, with offensive coordinator Andy Kotelnicki and new defensive coordinator Jim Knowles leading the charge.

Andy Kotelnicki (Offense): In his second year at Penn State, Kotelnicki has transformed the offense into a dynamic unit. In 2024, Penn State ranked first in the Big Ten in rushing yards per game (over 200 YPG), thanks to Kotelnicki’s creative play-calling and utilization of Singleton and Allen. His Kansas offense in 2023 averaged 206 rushing yards per game and 5.4 yards per carry, and with a more talented roster in 2025, expect similar production. Kotelnicki’s ability to incorporate tight ends and running backs into the passing game could offset the loss of star tight end Tyler Warren.

Jim Knowles (Defense): Knowles, hired from Ohio State, brings a proven track record of elite defensive performance. In 2024, his Ohio State defense led the nation, allowing just 264 yards per game (YPG) and 12.9 PPG. Knowles’ aggressive, blitz-heavy scheme should mesh well with Penn State’s talented front seven, led by Dennis-Sutton (4.5 sacks in 2024 CFP games) and emerging linebacker Tony Rojas (58 tackles, 3 INTs in 2024). Knowles’ defenses have ranked first in the nation for four consecutive years, and Penn State’s 2024 defense already ranked No. 17 in rushing defense.

5. Did we forget to mention the defense? – Penn State returns 70% of its defensive production from 2024, including key contributors like safety Jaylen Reed (98 tackles, 3 INTs) and defensive tackle Zane Durant (42 tackles, 11 TFL). The addition of transfers like Michigan’s Owen Wafle and Texas A&M’s Enai White bolsters the defensive line.

6. Betting Value at +240 – At +240, Penn State offers strong value compared to favorites like Ohio State (-110) and Oregon (+200). The Nittany Lions’ depth, coaching, and schedule give them a realistic path to 11 or 12 wins, which could be enough to win the Big Ten, especially if they upset Ohio State on the road. The +240 odds imply a 28.6% chance of winning the Big Ten, but Penn State’s metrics suggest their true probability is closer to 33-35%, making this a value bet.

Key Stats Recap

Franklin’s Record: 101-42 at Penn State, 125-57 overall.

As Favorite: 82-12 SU since 2016, +21 PPG average margin.

Running Backs: Singleton (1,099 yards, 12 TDs) and Allen (1,108 yards, 8 TDs) in 2024.

Offensive Line: 4 returning starters, allowed 8 sacks in 2024.

Knowles’ Defense (2024 at Ohio State): 264 YPG, 12.9 PPG, No. 1 nationally.

2024 Team Stats: No. 1 in Big Ten rushing (200+ YPG), No. 17 rushing defense nationally.

With a loaded roster, elite coaching, and a favorable schedule, Penn State is poised for a breakout season. Bet on the Nittany Lions to roar in 2025.
