Strength of schedule has a lot to do with this number being set as low as it is but the reality is that this will be a much higher scoring game than the oddsmakers predict. UT Arlington has played the 22nd toughest schedule in the nation which has dramatically impacted their overall offensive numbers. UTA is 301St in offensive efficiency in the nation and 330th in EFG% and average 67PPG. In conference play the Mavericks are the best offensive efficiency team in league play averaging 1.058-points per possession. UTA is coming off a 70-63 win over Georgia State on Thursday (total was set at 138) and State is very similar to Georgia Southern offensively and defensively but doesn’t play as fast as Southern. GA Southern is the fastest paced team in Sun Belt action, average in defensive efficiency in league play, but rank last in offensive efficiency. The Eagles have some solid defensive numbers overall but that should be tempered by a very easy schedule which ranks 199th. Georgia State is coming off a game against Arkansas State in which they scored just 56-points but they shot a horrendous 37% from the field (well below their season average) and made only 2 of 15 3-point attempts.
